The Cavaliers played their first game tonight without All-Star forward Kevin Love and came away with a win against the team he began his career with, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Cavs beat the T-Wolves 116 to 108. The Cavs combined to shoot 51.6% from the field and racked up 27 assists. Four of the Cavs starters scored double digit points tonight. Love’s replacement in the starting lineup, Channing Frye put up 21 points and pulled down 10 boards in 33 minutes. LeBron put up LeBron numbers again, scoring 25 points to go along with 14 assists and 8 rebounds.
The Timberwolves who were led by former first overall draft pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Andrew Wiggins and his 41 points. Karl-Anthony Towns provided 26 points and 8 rebounds for in the loss. Ricky Rubio led all players tonight with 16 assists in 39 minutes.
The Cavs will fly back home and take on the Indiana Pacers tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN.
